On September 13, 2023, a delegation from Shenzhen Cell Valley visited the Shantou Academy of Medical Sciences for exchange. The delegation included Professor Shi Yuanyuan, Chairman; Professor Wang Jianxun, Chief Scientist; Tang Xiaomeng, Deputy General Manager; Wei Zheng, Assistant to the Chairman; Dr. Zhan Jianqiang, International Cell Medicine Expert; and Director Chen Junhui of the Intervention and Cell Therapy Center at Peking University Shenzhen Hospital and President of the Cell Medicine Branch of the China Food and Drug Corporation Quality and Safety Promotion Association. They were warmly received by President Xu Haixiong of the Shantou Academy of Medical Sciences, Director Li Yongqian of the Hematology Department at Shantou Central Hospital, and Dr. Zhuang Zerui of the Neurosurgery Department at Shantou Central Hospital, and held symposium discussions.

First, led by Xu Haixiong, President of the Shantou Academy of Medical Sciences and former President of Shantou Central Hospital, the representatives toured the Testing Center and Biospecimen Bank of Shantou Central Hospital, gaining an in-depth understanding of its research platform development, advanced facilities and equipment, and clinical practice.

During the symposium, President Xu Haixiong, Professor Shi Yuanyuan, and Dr. Zhan Jianqiang successively provided detailed introductions to their respective teams' development and advantages.

President Xu Haixiong extended a warm welcome to the visiting delegations. He expressed the hope that through this exchange visit, multi-party cooperation and exchange could be established, medical research collaboration further strengthened, and talent cultivation and exchange promoted, jointly advancing innovation and development in the cell therapy field at the Shantou Academy of Medical Sciences.

Professor Shi Yuanyuan introduced Shenzhen Cell Valley's latest research achievements and innovative projects in the cell therapy field to the attendees. He emphasized Shenzhen Cell Valley's technological strength and R&D capabilities in the cell therapy field and expressed willingness to cooperate with the Shantou Academy of Medical Sciences to jointly advance innovative research and product development in cell therapy.

Dr. Zhan Jianqiang proposed that through this exchange visit, the parties could jointly establish an International Comprehensive Life Medicine Innovation Center and a Shantou International High-End Medical Center on the existing foundation, promoting the upgrading of high-end medical standards at the Shantou Academy of Medical Sciences. Through interdisciplinary cooperation, they could conduct frontier research and innovative projects, advance the development and application of medical science, and provide high-quality medical services to patients domestically and internationally.

Director Chen Junhui stated that the Shantou Academy of Medical Sciences could draw on his experience and development advantages in team building in the cell therapy field, forming multidisciplinary teams to fully leverage respective professional and technical strengths and promote the development and innovation of the Shantou Academy of Medical Sciences in the cell therapy field.

All parties expressed their commitment to relying on the platform development of the Shantou Academy of Medical Sciences to deepen medical research cooperation and achieve multidisciplinary collaborative innovation. By converging professional knowledge and technical strengths from different disciplines, they aim to better address the diagnostic and therapeutic challenges of complex diseases, improve medical standards and treatment outcomes, and thereby promote the construction, development, and clinical application of the Academy of Medical Sciences, providing patients with more advanced medical technologies and treatment plans, and promoting the development of medical technology and the improvement of medical services.
